Motor Outcomes with KCC2 Activation (IMAGE) Boston Children's Hospital Caption This schematic compares electromyography (EMG) recordings of right hindlimb electrical activity in different groups of mice, together with observed walking movement. Mice that had KCC2 activated in their inhibitory neurons after severe spinal cord injury (via genetic means or CLP290) show walking patterns that approximate those of mice with intact spinal cords. The red color indicate that these mice were stepping with the hindlimb, not dragging it (as were the untreated mice).
