IFN-g-inducible BATF2 inhibits Il23a expression in innate immune cells such as DCs and Mf by disrupting the formation of the transcription factors c-JUN/ATF-2 complex by directly binding to c-JUN, thus preventing Th17-mediated tissue damage during T. cruzi infection.
