Georgia Tech researchers (left-to-right) Yanjie He, Zhiqun Lin, and Jaehan Jung demonstrate how magnetic nanorods in the vial are attracted to a magnet held near the vial. The researchers have developed a new strategy for crafting one-dimensional nanorods based on cellulose using a wide range of precursor materials.
