The first picture of a satellite cell taken by Professor Partridge when the proteins to mark satellite cells had not yet been discovered. In this image he marked the satellite cell on a mouse myofiber by staining with acridine orange (red) and the myofiber nuclei are marked (blue) by expression of b-Gal under the myosin light-chain 1 enhancer.
