Terahertz waveforms emitted by shift currents in asymmetric quantum wells. The THz electric field ETHz is plotted as a function of time. It displays a single main oscillation. The time structure of the THz transients changes with the electric-field amplitude EI of the driving pulses, as is evident from the time shift of the maximum THz field with EI.
