Gold-gold bonds between electrodes on separate ultra-thin films were possible using water-vapor plasma. In tis example, an LED has been attached and the durability of the thin films can be seen - the light still works even after being stretched and crumpled. This is ideal for electronics embedded in clothing or on the skin.
