To illustrate their point, the scientists demonstrated how a flat sheet of pollen bilayer material, when exposed to changing humidity levels, was able to bend and fold into desired 3D configurations. The scientists believe this new bilayer material (of pollen-based paper and toner powder) could pave the way for intelligent green products.
