Simulations revealed that the phosphate group of CpG DNA is recognized by amino acids R7, K8, and R11 of CXCL14, which reside at the N-terminus, and by amino acids S57 and R60, which reside at the C-terminus. These results suggest that the amino acids at the N-terminal and C-terminal ends work co-operatively.
