Map show gaps in the conservation of European old-growth forests. "Protection gaps" are unprotected primary forests; "upgrading gaps" are protected primary forests outside strictly protected parks or reserves; and "restoration gaps" are forests in areas favourable for restoration for forest types that would require restoration to achieve a 17% primary forest target.
