Toxoplasmosis: Preventing mother-to-child transmission (VIDEO)
Caption
Professor Maritza Jaramillo's lab at the INRS focuses on how the parasite Toxoplasma gondii is transmitted from pregnant women to their babies. Her team has received recently a $700,000 grant from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) to study the underlying molecular mechanisms of this transmission and investigate how the infection affects placenta development and functions.
