Maria George took years to obtain the correct diagnosis of microvascular angina. ECGs and angiograms showed no problem (which is common with the condition) and she was sent home and during subsequent episodes told she should just "breathe through it" or that she should have a gastroscopy. She was finally referred to one of only three centres in the UK that have experts in the condition
