Beaver Dam in Eastern Oregon (IMAGE) NOAA Fisheries West Coast Region Caption Researchers installed posts to help beavers build dams in Bridge Creek, an intensively monitored watershed in eastern Oregon. The dams slowed the water, promoting growth of riparian vegetation that improved conditions for fish. The survival and abundance of native steelhead improved.
