New Swell Shark from the Philippines

These swell sharks, which likely represent a new species, were collected during the deep sea portion of the California Academy of Sciences' 2011 Philippine Biodiversity Expedition from a depth of about 2,000 feet. Academy scientist Dr. John McCosker is currently conducting the necessary analysis to confirm the new species designation.
