Measuring Navigational Skills in an fMRI (IMAGE) Norwegian University of Science and Technology Caption Pintzka used an MRI scanner that takes pictures of the brain to investigate whether there are any differences in how men and women orient themselves. The test subjects lay in the scanner while solving tasks. Using 3-D glasses and a joystick on the stomach, they had to orient themselves in a virtual maze of 4500 m2.
