NASA's infrared AIRS image showed high (strong) thunderstorms in System 97L were over Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. The bulk of the thunderstorm activity was east of Puerto Rico. Strong convective activities as indicated by high thunderstorms (in purple) are cold as -63F.
