Newly Discovered Supernova Outshines All Others (3 of 3) (IMAGE)

Two of the 14-centimeter diameter lens telescopes in use for the All Sky Automated Survey for SuperNovae (ASAS-SN) that discovered ASASSN-15lh. Since this photo was taken, two more telescopes have been added to the ASAS-SN station in Cerro Tololo, Chile. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Jan. 15, 2016, issue of <i>Science</i>, published by AAAS. The paper, by S. Dong at Peking University in Beijing, China, and colleagues was titled, "ASASSN-15lh: A highly super-luminous supernova."
