Study results suggest that nesting veeries (Catharus fuscescens, pictured above) and ovenbirds (Seiurus aurocapilla) may eavesdrop on chipmunk calls and use this information to assess their spatial heterogeneity, and hence predation risk, in order to find safe locations to build their nests.
