Therapies Restore Antioxidant Protein to Treat Cyst Disorder in the Kidneys of Mice (4 of 4) (IMAGE)
Caption
Our findings indicate that NRF2 remodels enhancer landscapes and activates its target genes through a phase-separation mechanism, and that activation of NRF2 represents a promising strategy for restoring redox homeostasis and combatting polycystic kidney disease. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Jun. 29, 2020, issue of Science Translational Medicine, published by AAAS. The paper, by Y. Lu at Tianjin Medical University in Tianjin, China; and colleagues was titled, "Activation of NRF2 ameliorates oxidative stress and cystogenesis in autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease."
