Structure of the Modified PDMS Molecules (IMAGE)

The PDMS molecules modified with triptycene could self-assemble into the desired 2D hexagonal arrays (shown in upper right of the figure) and then stacked to form a 2D+1D structure (shown in the lower right of the figure), which cause a dramatic increase in viscosity. As a result, liquid PDMS turned into a highly viscous solid.
