The Allen Cell Explorer's 3-D Cell Viewer uses computer algorithms to take 3-D cell image data and segment the boundaries of various cell structures. This type of visualization allows users to see inside of cells. This image shows a cell during mitosis. Each structure is color labeled: magenta -- cell membrane, cyan -- DNA, white -- green fluorescent protein tag labeling microtubules.
