The Allen Cell Explorer 3-D Cell Viewer uses computer algorithms to take 3-D cell image data and segment the boundaries of various cellular structures. This movie shows a volumetric rendering of a human stem cell in mitosis -- when it's dividing. Each structure is color labeled: magenta -- cell membrane, cyan -- DNA, white -- green fluorescent protein tag labeling microtubules.
