Teeth in CT and Synchrotron Microtomography (IMAGE)
Caption
This is a comparison of a classical computer tomography scan (left) with a scan using synchrotron microtomography (right). The much higher resolution and contrast are clearly visible. The lower part depicts a zoom into a tooth and shows a lot of detail. To study the development of teeth, a resolution of between 10 and 100 times higher than on this image is needed.
