Mating arena for vinegar flies: For the study, Mohammed Khallaf recorded the mating behaviors of 99 different species of flies of the genus Drosophila. The species not only differed in terms of their chemical communication based on different sex pheromones. Rather, the behavior of individual species can also differ astonishingly from that of closely related species.
