Gabor Patches (IMAGE)

Participants who were taught to categorize blurry striped circles, called Gabor patches, into two arbitrary groups of angles prior to practicing recognizing patches of one angle ended up improving in recognizing patches of the trained angle and patches with angles in the same arbitrary category, a Brown University study found.
