With its EPRSCoR award, Nebraska will establish a Center for Root and Rhizobiome Innovation to develop tools and technologies for more rapid, precise and predictable improvement of crops to increase production and resilience to climate change. Here, Edgar Cahoon, professor of biochemistry and director of the Center for Plant Science Innovation at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and James Alfano, UNL professor of plant pathology, display some of the roots they study.
