Barley spectra (IMAGE) University of Copenhagen - Faculty of Science Caption Near Infrared (NIR) barley spectra (left) reflects chemical fingerprints of seeds from normal barley lines (green), protein/lysine lines (blue) and carbohydrate lines (red). The shape of the spectra is characteristic for each barley group, where the growing environment (Pot and Field) influences the offset of the spectra. To the right results from gas chromatography, where it is also seen that the "curve shape" of analytical data is characteristic for each barley group and the growing environment (high-low temperature) affects the shift of the curve.
