Recording of a wheeze (AUDIO) University of Cambridge Your browser does not support the audio element. Caption Wheezing is associated with conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchitis, pneumonia, emphysema and interstitial fibrosis. Since this list of conditions is rather long, it is difficult to be sure of what is wrong with a patient just based on hearing the wheeze. Therefore we are working on understanding how wheezing sounds are produced so that diagnoses can be more specific.
