Antonella Caccamo received her Ph.D. in Biotechnology from the University of Catania, Italy. Her primary research interest is linked to dissecting the molecular mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Specifically, she uses complementary approaches to study the role of the mammalian target of rapamycin in AD, and to elucidate the link between Down syndrome and AD. Dr. Caccamo has 15 years of experience working on AD and a strong track record of productivity with more than 35 peer-reviewed publications.
