Hurricane Igor's Frigid Cloudtops (IMAGE)

NASA's Aqua satellite AIRS instrument captured an infrared image of the western half of Hurricane Igor's clouds temperatures on Sept. 14 at 1723 UTC (1:23 p.m. EDT) that continued to show strong convective activity in his center as indicated by high thunderstorms (in purple) that were as cold as -63F.
