Lisa Strand examined Late Iron Age and Viking age bones from Norway at the Biological Anthropology Collection at the University of Oslo, commonly called the Schreiner Collection, named for the collection’s first curator, Professor Kristian Emil Schreiner. It holds about 8500 skeletons that date from the Stone Age up to the 19th century.
