Adoptive immunotherapy via transfer of type I dendritic cells (cDC1s) is a more effective against tumors treatment than transfer of type II dendritic cells (cDC2s). The graph shows the number of tumor metastases in the lungs of mice. Representative images on the right show metastases (visible as dark spots) in the lungs of mice injected with B16-OVA melanoma cells and subsequently receiving no treatment (Control) or immunotherapy with tumor antigen-loaded cDC1s or cDC2s. Treatment with antigen-loaded cDC1s prevents the spread of tumor cells to the lungs.
