Pressure-induced polarity reversal of self-driven photocurrent in BiI3. (IMAGE)
Caption
In this experiment, a laser spot with a diameter of 10 µm was used to locally illuminate the sample, with no external bias applied. Above 5.5 GPa, the direction of the photocurrent reversed, indicating a p-n conductive type switching in BiI₃. Hall effect measurements further validated the change of the conductive type.
