(左パネル) 4種類の錐体細胞が規則正しく格子状に配列している成魚の網膜上の錐体モザイクパターン。(右パネル) 一対の相同染色体上のDscamb遺伝子のうち、一方または両方を欠損した魚の錐体モザイクパターン。Dscambは赤色錐体細胞の配列を制御する分子として同定されており、Dscambの欠損は赤色錐体のクラスターを誘導し、規則的なモザイクパターンが崩れる。
