Capybaras, the world's largest rodent, are well-adjusted to urban life in Brazil, living alongside city parks. Ticks carrying Rocky Mountain spotted fever prefer to feed on them, creating unprecedented case numbers of the disease in São Paulo. Neutering capybaras in affected areas could help, a UC Davis study says.
