Drone footage of Greenland coring site (VIDEO)
Caption
A research team collects a core of snow and ice in southeastern Greenland, studying the impacts atmospheric rivers have on the Greenland Ice Sheet's mass balance. Single, intense atmospheric rivers can deliver enough snow to offset some ice mass loss and delay the onset of summer melt, the team found. The results are published in Geophysical Research Letters.
