Left: Maritime pine embryos experienced one of three different temperatures during maturation: 23°C (control), 18°C (low), or 28°C (high). The trees were followed for five years after germination. Middle: They first spent an acclimatisation period in a greenhouse, growing in pots. Right: They were then planted outdoors.
