Photos of PULSED platform and McHugh lab (IMAGE)
Caption
An array of hollow microparticles (left) developed in the laboratory (top right) of Rice University bioengineer Kevin McHugh for timed-release drug delivery. The particles, which are shown loaded with colored dye, are small enough to fit through a standard hypodermic needle (bottom right) and designed to biodegrade over time, releasing their drug payload at a later target date.
