(b) The piecewise linear fittings of annual winter and zonal mean PVAs averaged over 60°N–90°N at different height ranges in the fore and latter parts of the 42-year period. The purple, green, yellow, and red lines are for the relative trends at the heights of 30-10, 20-10, 10-7, and 10-5 hPa, respectively.
