Mark Herr arrived at his “big breakthrough” when he discovered the genetically distinct species all had smaller toe discs — and they were white. Here, see a comparison of palmar view of the left hand (left) and plantar view of the left foot (right) of adult male Limnonectes cassiopeia, new species,  and adult male L. macrocephalus.
