Typical examples of active pharmaceutical ingredients containing heteroatom–CF3 fragments. Although such compounds themselves are formally in the family of polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS), they hardly have issues of (un)degradability and environmental persistence that are typical of PFAS.
