Amphibious sensor could ease underwater communication for divers (IMAGE)
Caption
Researchers have demonstrated a technique for creating sensors that can function both in air and underwater. The approach paves the way for “amphibious” sensors with a host of applications. Here an encapsulated amphibious strain sensor has been integrated into glove for use by scuba divers. The sensors recognize sign language and translate it into electronic signals.
