Farming sorghum (IMAGE)
Caption
A farmer in Nyala in Sudan is harvesting sorghum. The plants got many genetic similarities with corn, and Guillaume Ramstein and his colleagues have found a mutation that improves the conversion of sunlight into energy. It looks as though that mutation would have the same effect in corn and other crops.
