COSMO-MUSCAT model simulations were used to quantify the direct radiative effects of aralkum dust and investigate the associated impact on the climate. The Leibniz junior research group "OLALA" (Optical Lab for Lidar Applications) plans to investigate the optical properties of dust in more detail in the coming years.
