DNA packed into a virus capsid (IMAGE)
Caption
Coarse-grained simulations of HK97 genome packaging. A motor protein pushes DNA through a portal into the capsid, where the DNA coils into switchback loops. DNA is colored in order of entry into the capsid, blue to red. The variation in each simulation indicates that viruses have individuality.
