A top-down view of an off-center heavy-ion collision. The rapid decay of an ultra-strong magnetic field (B) induces an electric current through Faraday induction, influencing the trajectory of charged particles. The degree of deflection is directly related to the conductivity of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP), giving scientists a way to measure this important property.
