The urban boundary of 1990 is regarded as the most internal urban area (yellow). (a)~(e) show the spatial distribution of vegetation coverage in Beijing, Yichun, Yulin, Lishui and Hailar, respectively. (f) shows the national average FVC of cities of different sizes from the old urban area to the new urban area, where the letters on the bar chart indicate the significant difference in FVC of cities of different sizes at the level of 0.05
