Osteoclasts are involved in osteoporosis and many other bone diseases.

Osteoclasts, which digest old or damaged bone, are essential for bone maintenance. However, problems with osteoclast differentiation and development can lead to diseases that render bones and joints more fragile, including osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis. Thus, understanding the underlying mechanisms behind these processes is essential for developing new therapeutic strategies.
