The border region between Bolivia (to the left of the blue line) and Brazil is a clear demonstration of how President Bolsonaro jettisoned the policy of forest conservation that had been pursued successfully for many years. Tree numbers in the Amazon basin, which plays such a vital role for the climate, have since fallen drastically once again (areas shaded yellow to red).
