Graduate student Atsutse Kludze, right, and postdoc Subhajit Karmakar work in Yasaman Ghasempour's Princeton lab to develop a wireless technology that can effectively peek beneath the surface of the fruit's skin to take ripeness measurements that indicate its quality. The researchers believe it is the first smart food technology to make use of the high-frequency sub-terahertz band of wireless signals.
