Assoc Prof Lu Jiong (right), Dr Xiao Hai (left) who is the first author of the study, and the multidisciplinary research team demonstrated that the new catalyst performed better when used in common chemical reactions conducted during chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing, and has a lower carbon footprint than conventional catalysts.
